Located in Cincinnati's notorious college town, Thai Express is a great way to expose your pallet to some Asian food without experiencing the glutenous after-feeling of Chinese takeaway. Bamboo shoots, Holy Basil, peanut sauce and coconut are just a few of the amazing ingredients that make this hole-in-the-wall really something special and has become a local favorite among many others with students at University Of Cincinnati. As soon as you walk in you feel like you've been there twenty two times already, and the college chit chat in the background provides a warm atmosphere.
After choosing an inexpensive dish, the chef's (whom always have a smile on their face) will ask you what level of spiciness you would like on a scale of 1-10. shortly after you see a multitude of ingredients appearing from all parts of the kitchen, flying into huge sizzling pans. The smell just instantly makes you even more hungry than you just were when you came in.
A large selection of soda's makes this place even cooler. These aren't your average drinks either- A rainbow of mouthwatering colorful flavors lines the rack. Tall glass soda bottles with flavors like Pineapple and Grape. Also offered are San Pellegrino's- including my favorite flavor, Blood Orange.
Everything from the decadently sliced cucumber to the crunchy peanuts was a fine addition to the fresh noodles. A generous portion left me with another serving of flavorsome noodles for dinner and left me determined to return to get my Thai fix.
Among some of the last things i'd love to detail was the Cincinnati Certificate of Excellence hanging on the wall, delicate hand made toys for sale by the register and square payments being accepted.
